Heel spur treatment using Master Tung Acupuncture methods and complementary concepts

Learn effective methods of treating heel spurs using Master Tung Acupuncture techniques and Hara's diagnostics, eliminating the pain and the cause of the problem.

Heel spurs are one of the most common causes of heel pain, affecting both athletes and sedentary individuals. In traditional Chinese medicine, they are caused by energy stagnation and impaired Qi flow. This article will present effective therapeutic techniques used during the "Master Tung Acupuncture and Complementary Concepts" training course led by Maciej Ossowski and Jakub Cieniawski. Diagnosis and treatment of the Hara, or abdomen, play a key role, as do the distal techniques of Master Tung, which help remove stagnation and effectively eliminate heel pain.

Causes of heel spurs according to Chinese medicine

In Chinese medicine, a heel spur is the result of:

  • Stagnation of Qi and Blood in the meridians,
  • weakness of the Kidneys and Spleen,
  • chronic muscle tension leading to stagnation,
  • external factors such as cold and dampness, which promote energy stagnation. Understanding these mechanisms is crucial for effective therapy, which not only reduces pain but also addresses the root cause of the ailment.

Hara's diagnosis as the key to solving the problem

Hara, or the abdominal area, is a central diagnostic tool in Eastern medicine. Through palpation, tension and congestion in the area associated with the heel can be assessed. Key aspects of Hara therapy include:

  • localization of tensions in the lower Dantian area,
  • relaxing abdominal muscles and fascia,
  • unblocking energy blockages.

In heel spur treatment, it's crucial to identify the areas in the abdomen that are responsible for heel congestion and release them manually and with acupuncture. Many therapists note that after working on these points, patients experience almost immediate relief from heel pain.

Master Tung Techniques for Treating Heel Spurs

Metoda Accupuncture Method is distinguished by its effectiveness thanks to its use of anatomical and meridian balancing theory. A key premise of this method is treating the body as a coherent system, where pain in one part can stem from disturbances in a distant area. This allows the therapy to focus not only on the site of pain but also on distal points that influence the balance of energy flow throughout the body. The essence of this method also incorporates the concept of mirror reflection and inter-meridian synergy, which allows for effective treatment of problematic areas by working on distant points.

By precisely positioning the needles in accordance with these principles, we achieve rapid therapeutic effects, often after the first session.

Clinical case – effectiveness of therapy in practice

The patient, a 52-year-old man, presented with heel pain that had persisted for eight months. The pain worsened upon rising in the morning and after prolonged periods of standing. Conventional treatment was ineffective. Hara's diagnostic workup revealed tension in the lower abdomen. Manual techniques and Master Tung acupuncture were used. After the first session, the patient experienced significant pain reduction, and after three treatments, the pain disappeared completely.

Summary

Treating heel spurs requires a holistic approach, addressing both the cause and symptoms. Hara's diagnostics and Master Tung acupuncture offer effective and lasting solutions. We invite you to attend the "Master Tung Acupuncture and Complementary Concepts" training course, where we teach you step-by-step how to effectively apply these methods in clinical practice.

Jakub Cieniawski

I'm a physiotherapist and naturopath. I run a practice in Jelenia Góra, where I create a welcoming environment for every patient. Meeting Dr. Radosław Składowski changed many professional careers, including mine. Fascinated not only by the techniques themselves but also by his way of thinking, drawing conclusions, and the way he interviewed patients, I watched Radek work. I continue to do so with great pleasure to this day. Read more...
